I'm back!  Had a baby and although we watched a lot of TV, blogging about it was not on the top of the list.

The PVR was empty to begin last night, so let's start fresh.

What we watched live - Amazing Race, Boardwalk Empire, Hung
What we PVR'd for later - Desperate Housewives

The transgender on Hung was a great twist for Ray, brought out some of the other side of him, and the pimp stealing from the ho was an unexpected twist too.

What we watched live - HIMYM, 2 Broke Girls, 2.5 Men
What we PVR'd for later - Terra Nova, Mike & Molly, Hawaii 5-0

Evened out, but the PVR picked up an extra 1.5 hours.  Vicious circle.  Watched the first 5 minutes of the first Terra Nova and can't erase it.  It hooked me.

Monday 3 October 2011

Sunday, October 2nd

What we watched from PVR - Free Agents, Happy Endings, Boardwalk Empire, Hawaii 5-0, Parenthood

What we watched live - Big Bang Theory
What we PVR'd for later - Charlie's Angels, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice

Thursday 29 September 2011

Wednesday, September 28th

What we watched from PVR - Mike & Molly, Raising Hope
What we watched Live - Survivor
What we PVR'd for later - Up All Night, Free Agents, Modern Family, Happy Endings

Broke even!  Watched 2 hours, PVR'd 2 hours.

Mike & Molly - Wedding planning and a guys fishing trip...what could go wrong?  The Yoga was hysterical, the sister and her mewing and mooing cracked me up!

Raising Hope - Sabrina is rich?  Who knew?  The Japanese toilet scenes were the best part.  Permission to increase my fiber content?

Survivor - Man, Brandon is a loose cannon.  Semhar is sent home...poetic justice?  Papa Bear is sent to battle Christine now, and Cochran may not be far behind.

Wednesday 28 September 2011

Tuesday, September 27th

What we watched from PVR - Call Me Fitz, 2.5 Men
What we watched live - Glee, New Girl
What we PVR'd for later - Raising Hope, Body of Proof, Parenthood

Minor victory in only letting the PVR count increase by 1.5 hours...blech, will we ever get this watched.

Fitz - awesome again.  The mother-babying thing was a little weird, but a lot funny.

2.5 Men - Someone has to get Kutcher to smile when he acts, he knows it's a comedy right?

Glee - somewhat forgettable episode with all the Broadway numbers.  Rachels' cry-sing, but hey, Quinn is back, and so is Beth!

New Girl - They swapped out the third guy, as last week was the pilot episode.  This was a pretty good episode, who knew a basketball would scatter an LCD like that?

Tuesday 27 September 2011

Monday, September 26th

What we watched from PVR - Call me Fitz, Grey's Anatomy Part 2
What we watched live - HIMYM, 2 Broke Girls
What we PVR'd for later - 2.5 Men, Mike & Molly, Terra Nova X2, Hawaii 5-0.

My PVR is likely very mad.  and very full.

Call me Fitz - Priestly back to his repugnant self.  His father has ball cancer, and Fitz thinks he has him by the balls but Larry never made the horse bet.  Sis is moving in with the enemies across the road.

Grey's - The Chief sacrifices himself to save Meredith, and Christina was in the lead to be the Gunther until she Epi-ed Alex.  Avery ended up the Gunther.  The Social Worker took the baby, and now MerDer have to work it out.

HIMYM - The continuation of the Victoria meet, played against Barney's long desire to see/touch Lily's boobs.  Hilarious.  Victoria leaves again, claiming that Robin is the reason no relationship will work for Ted.  And she's right.

2 Broke Girls - The moving forward of the relationship, they end up in bed together, and Caroline falls in horse Brooklyn.  Max wanted the breakup scene with Robbie, but Caroline did it, and they fight, but get back together.

Monday 26 September 2011

Sunday, September 25th

What we watched from PVR - Free Agents, First Hour of Grey's Anatomy
What we deleted from PVR - Unforgettable (just too many shows to watch)
What we watched live - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Amazing Race, Desperate Housewives, Call Me Fitz X2, Boardwalk Empire

Went in the negative on the PVR remove versus PVR add tonight.  Not good.

Free Agents - This show was better than the first, but may not be making the lists for much longer.  It's not that it poorly written, but I have no compassion for the characters.

Grey's Part 1 - Meredith is fired, but is allowed to remain around the hospital, seriously?  The car in the sinkhole, and the Astin having to cut off his wife's leg drama was okay.  The new chief resident appears to be failing miserably.  Meredith steals her kid!  Part 2 tonight?  Maybe.

Sunday 25 September 2011

Saturday, September 24th

What we watched from PVR - Parenthood, Charlie's Angels, Up all night
What we watched live - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Nothing

Friday, September 23rd

What we watched from PVR - Hawaii 5-0, New Girl, Raising Hope
What we watched live - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Fringe

Friday 23 September 2011

Thursday, September 22nd

What we watched live - Big Bang Theory X2
What we PVR'd for later - Charlie's Angels, Person of Interest, Grey's Anatomy

BBT - The aftermath of Raj and Penny.  Turns out Raj was a bit of a quick draw.  Nothing really happened except nakedness.  The second ep was about a dirty chair.  The first show was much better.  The second had little bang.

Thursday 22 September 2011

Wednesday, September 21st

What we watched from PVR - Nothing
What we watched Live - Survivor, Modern Family
What we PVR'd for Later - Up All Night, Free Agents

Survivor - Brandon has some real issues with Mikayla's hotness, doesn't he?  I'd say he cheated on his wife or something like that.  Ozzy finds the Idol, and Christine finds the clue, if only she had found the Idol it may have saved her...but no.

Modern Family - Heading to the dude ranch.  Jay is not taking to the horse well, but the cowpoke is taking to Gloria.  Who wouldn't.  Dylan is out of the show for a while now too.  The second half is about Mitchell and Cam adding a second child to their flock.  Lily has to get over her share/coddle issue first.  In an aha moment they all find out that Claire's having to be right all the time is because of Jay.  Shocker.

Wednesday 21 September 2011

Tuesday, September 20th

What we watched from PVR - 2 Broke Girls
What we watched live - Glee
What we PVR'd for later - New Girl, Raising Hope, Body of Proof, Parenthood, Unforgettable

2 BG - really good first show, Kat is awesome.  The skeety boyfriend had to go, and ta-da that happened.  Why don't they sell the horse?  I wonder if the total earned at the end of the show will keep updating.  That would be cool.

Glee - Welcome back!  No Sam, Puck back to being Puck (hopefully), and Quinn gone all 80's Madonna.  Few changes, Will and Emma in the bed, but no action.  Sue being her nasty self.  The go-gos number was much better than the Wicked number, only five songs today.  Blaine transferred makes it easier for the musical numbers.  Mercedes has a new man!

Wow, we PVR'd 4 hours!

Tuesday 20 September 2011

Monday, September 19th

What we watched "live" - HIMYM x2, 2.5 Men
What we PVR'd - 2 Broke Girls, Hawaii 5-0

HIMYM - Barney's wedding, but we find out next to nothing about it.  Typical.  Marshall and Lilly are preggo, and tell the rest of the 5.  Barney's trial runs of pick-up personas is hilarious - Patient Zero!  Robin pines after Barney only to see him end up swooning for Norah.  Which tie does he marry?  Ted sees the cupcake girl that he loved, obviously back from Germany (right?) Ashley Williams!

2.5 Men - The arrival of Ashton, the cremation of Charlie.  Somewhat tastefully done.  Ashton played it so straight-faced the whole show, it looked like bad acting.  The exes at the church was great - Jeri Ryan, Jenny McCarthy, et al was killer.  Of course, Rose killed him.  Ashton is buying the house, as to how the rest of them still stay on is no addressed, but...

Monday 19 September 2011

Sunday, September 18th

What we watched - Just go with it (1/2 of it) (Movie)

Pretty good so far, they are in Hawaii with Dolph having joined them.  Predict that Sandler ends up with nobody.

Saturday, September 17th

What we watched - Hall Pass (Movie)

So hilarious and so true to life.  Glad this would never happen in real life!

Friday 16 September 2011

Friday, September 16th

We watched nothing.  Nothing on PVR, nothing really on TV, DIY and Iron Chef, but nothing really.

Thursday, September 15th

What we watched - Up All Night, Free Agents

Critics said the better show was UAN, but they both were meh, in my opinion.

Wednesday, September 14th

What we watched - Survivor, Big Brother

Survivor - Intro episode, hi I'm blah, I do blah for a living.  I'm Dawn in the at-work pool, and I thought I was crazy.  Coach is still a tool, and Ozzy is not much better.  Nemheh, or whatever her name is couldn't keep going in the challenge, so she went to Redemption Island.

BB - Rachel wins, frig.  She was the most deserving out of the end 3, but I hate the witch.  Adam was useless, and had the misconception he could win.  Tool.

Tuesday, September 13th

What we watched - Parenthood

New TV is back!!  Great show, great first ep.  Jason Ritter is back.  This show was more about the kids of the Bravermanns except for the Adam and Crosby buying the Diner Studio thingy.  The drunken dance party by the adults was funny, though.

Tuesday 13 September 2011

Monday, September 12th

What we watched - Nothing, again.  Well, Man v. Food, and Storage Wars were on, but not really paying attention to them.

Sunday, September 11th

What we watched - True Blood Finale.

Wicked, so many storylines.  Death (possible) count - Tara, Nan, Debbie, Jesus.  In trouble in the last scenes - Jason and Sam.  Back from the dead - Russell and Steve.  Well, technically almost all characters like Rene and Gran were back from the dead for a few moments.  Lots of questions answered, lots more posed.   Oh, and naked Jessica.

Saturday, September 10th

We watched nothing...nothing at all.  Man, bring on the new shows!!

Friday, September 9th

What we watched - Rookie Blue X 2

The two-part finale.  You knew they were going to wrap up this Swarek undercover bit pretty fast, but thought it would go past a half dozen shows.  Drama as he goes missing, blah blah.  I think the two blondies are going to hook up now.

Friday 9 September 2011

Thursday, September 8th

What we watched live - Big Brother
What we PVR'd - Rookie Blue (2 Hrs)

BB - Adam nominates Jordan and Porsche, Porsche wins POV, Rachel goes up, starts crying, but it's Jordan that gets the boot.  The three part HoH starts at the end of the show...

Wednesday, September 7th

What we watched - Big Brother

Kalia gets the boot, and Adam wins HoH.  Newbies rule!

Tuesday, September 6th

We watched nothing, there was nothing on...early to bed, early to rise.

Tuesday 6 September 2011

Monday 5 September 2011

Sunday, September 4th

What we watched - Big Brother, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Ep 10

Saturday, September 3rd

What we watched - No Strings Attached (movie), Boardwalk Empire Ep 9

NSA - Not bad, Natalie Portman as the free loving doctor wasn't really convincing, but she will always be the little girl next door in Beautiful Girls to me.  Kutcher was more believable, and his ex with his Dad was good stuff.  4 of 5 stars.

BE9 - All about the D'Alessio (don't they make pizzas?), Jimmy is told to kill them by Nucky as they tried to kill Eli.  Eddie and Nucky survive an attack by them.  Van Alden arrests Jimmy, but has to let him go, Sebso takes the only witness Billy on a transfer and kills him.

Friday, September 2nd

What we watched - Rookie Blue, Boardwalk Empire Ep 8.

Rookie Blue - The Scavenger Hunt.  Three rookies left alone in the wild, return 12 hours later with as much cash and drugs as possible.  Andy runs into undercover Swarek, they sleep together, and Dove screws over his brother's old friend.  Expect that to have repercussions.

BE8 - Eli is filling in for Nucky.  Eli gets shot.  Oops.  There's a bunch of political stuff that I gloss over.  Nucky sees Jimmy and asks him to come back to AC.  Nucky learns about Eli and freaks, calls Margaret and gets her to protect his little black liquor book.  Van Alden's wife wants money for baby-making doctors, be he instead sends it to Jimmy's wife, who was meant to have it anyway.  Margaret looks at the book, fade to black.

Friday 2 September 2011

Thursday, September 1st

What we watched - Boardwalk Empire Ep 7, Big Brother

BE - I like how not all character lines are in each show, but you have to remember so much.  Like when the guy is sitting down in the diner, I had to think about who he was.  Jimmy finding the other vet, and using him to snipe that guy was sweet though.  Nucky and his women was developed a little farther.  The young one will snap soon though.  Our first lesbian scene too!

BB - As expected Shelly gets the boot, and we see the Jury house and the awkwardness that exists there.  HoH is a carry over again, so we have no idea...unless you go to the spoiler site..

Wednesday, August 31st

What we watched - Big Brother

Porsche puts up Jorchel as expected, Rachel wins Veto, so it ends up being Adam and Shelly on the block.  Unless Shelly cuts a deal, she will be #4 Jury.

Wednesday 31 August 2011

Tuesday, August 30th

What we watched - Boardwalk Empire, Ep. 6

Jimmy, Al and the boss go to meet the Greektown guys, and they have a meeting where tempers flare but Jimmy et al have the final laugh as the coat check girls are in on it, and slip them guns.  Everyone dies.  Nucky is keeping two women and they know about each other.  He bails on Margaret and that will likely come back to bite him.  Lucky finds out that it isn't Jimmy's wife that is putting lead in his pencil, it's his Mom.  Will that affect him?  Likely.

Monday, August 29th

What we watched - Boardwalk Empire, Ep. 5

Lots happened this episode, the "lady" that Jimmy was with is recovering from having her face slashed, turns to alcohol and kills herself.  Nucky tries to ignore Margaret's ideas and prohibition requests, which she then has the beer garage busted, and one of Nucky's men dragged off to jail.  He then goes to Margaret and they get busy.  Jimmy's Mom is attracting the attention of Lucky.

Monday 29 August 2011

Sunday, August 28th

What we watched - Big Brother, True Blood

BB - Finally the blow-up from last Thursday's show that was talked about.  Shelly stood her own with Jeff, and Jordan finally got mad.  Porsche wins HoH, wow.  You know she will put up Rachel and Jordan, right?  Wait, Pandora's box!  Duos are back on.  Play as a duo and win veto as a duo.  Wrench in plans, there.

TB - Tommy finally dies, good riddance, never liked the character.  Sam and Alcide go after the werewolves responsible, while the head guy is making time with Alcide's girl.  The vamps come up with a plan to blow up the witch shop.  Sookie has to save Tara though!  They plan to get close and Jesus tries to go in, and is hit with a wall.  Marnie+ancient witch challenges him to make it through the wall.  Jesus devils up and gets through.  Meanwhile Tara and the other waitress reverse the protection spell, and Sookie, Lafayette, and Jason try to get it, with the witch taking all of them except Jason.  We then see the 4 main vamps in black approaching with guns and stuff, looking kick-ass.  There was a Balflour side story too that bored me.

Saturday, August 27th

What we watched - Paul (Movie)

Big Simon Pegg fan, bought this to continue my collection of his movies.  It was...only alright.  Not on the lines of Shaun of the Dead or anything, but entertaining none the less.  I'd give it 3/5 stars.

Friday, August 26th

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue

The PVR almost didn't record this.  The Rogers Guide didn't have it listed as new.  Had to manually record it late in the night.  Good show though, Dove and Chris's tension, Sam and Andy's sexual tension, and the guy that kidnapped his own kid.  Pretty good story development on this episode too.

Friday 26 August 2011

Thursday, August 25th

What we watched live - Big Brother

Double eviction.  After being lead to believe that Dani would be staying, Rachel turned and voted her out.  Quick turnaround and Kalie wins HoH, and then nominates Jeff and Rachel.  Porsche wins veto!  The house votes out Jeff.  Wow!  Shelly turned at exactly the right time.  Jordan now joins Rachel on the sniffle parade.

Thursday 25 August 2011

Wednesday, August 24th

What we watched - Big Brother

Veto night, Jeff won in the building of Mrs. Zingbot.  Not sure if it was just me, but half the time the Zingbot's voice was too high to understand what he was saying.  Anyway, he took Porsche off and put Dani up.  Dani will likely go home...

Wednesday 24 August 2011

Tuesday, August 23rd

What we watched - the rest of Gene Simmons: Family Jewels Season 5.

Now we are caught up...well, one season behind at least.  The raccoon episode was funny, Gene spent the whole night on the roof!  Funny, how the cameraman wouldn't help him...

Monday, August 22nd

What we watched - Boardwalk Empire, Eps 2 & 3.

Just getting around to watching, watched Ep 1 so long ago, forgot how good it was.  Jimmy is going down.  Gretchen Mol, as Jimmy's Mom, sweet!  Is Jimmy going to end up as being Nucky's son?  The one playing Margaret is so plain, and contrasted against Paz's Lucy, is perfect!

Monday 22 August 2011

Sunday, August 21st

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue
What we watched live - Big Brother, True Blood

RB - Horses and Mandarin Mafia, what a great combo.  The horses send Dov into a drug-induced babble where he tells Peck he loves her.  Awkward!  Andy is asked out by the head horseman.  Traci connects with a fake bomb threat girl, who was trying to protect her boyfriend, and it turns out that he was trying to kill her.  Nash saves the day!

BB - The continuation of the HoH comp.  As predicted Jeff wins, and nominates Porsche and Kalia.  Dani is already in the Veto comp, so it should be easy...?

TB - Nan drops by and learns about the witches, she has to get silvered, she's not happy.  Sookie is having threesome dreams.  The coven is held captive by the ancient witch, Lafayette/Aunt Jemima and Mikey are hold up in Hoyt's house.  Jesus helps Jemima and the baby reconnect, and she leaves Lafayette's body.  Jess and Jason get it on.  Sam and Luna do it too, while fake Sam is getting the crap kicked out of him by werewolves.  Alcide spends the end of a second episode running away with someone in his arms.

Saturday, August 20th

We watched nothing, we actually went out.  Believe it or not.

Friday, August 19th

What we watched live - Salt (movie)

Very fast moving movie with little story.  Perfect fodder for a Friday night.  Somewhat confusing twists, but not bad.  3/5 stars.

Friday 19 August 2011

What we watched live - Big Brother

Yay!  Brendon is out...again.  Hopefully Rachel follows close behind.  There is a double eviction next Thursday, right on!  Just looked at spoilers to see which HG won HoH, and it could be interesting.

Thursday 18 August 2011

Wednesday, August 17th

What we watched live - Big Brother.

Veto night and Cornhole.  Adam wins something, shock!  Daniele makes a Zombie speech and puts Brendon back on the block.  Yeah!!  Shelly in Solitary was heart-string pulling too.  Jordan is the best!!

Tuesday, August 16th

What we watched live - second half of "Life as we know it" (Movie), "You Again" (Movie)

Two movies in one night, well 1.5 really.  The rest of LAWKI was good, the investment of the social worker was great, and the happy ending of course.  I expected a second baby, but that's okay.  4/5 stars.

You Again was pretty good too.  Odette was good as the bad girl, and Kristen Bell as the nerd done good was a good character as well.  Jamie Lynn Curtis and Sig Weaver's past could have been more played up, and the Tim character, well pretty much anything he's been in, cracks me up.  4/5 stars too.

Monday, August 15th

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue
What we watched Live - 1/2 of "Life as we know it" (Movie)

Rookie Blue - A story not completely about Andy!  The station gets quarantined, and there's a blue guy that obviously robbed a bank.  The folks on the inside use the resources to lead around Luke, Dove, and Bomb girl to find the partner that happens to be Smurfette.

LAWKI - Pretty good so far.  Actually surprisingly good.  Messer character is very believable.  The unreal part is that the baby was left to them, but based on the process where they try to find others amongst the family and friends to take them, they figure out they are the best ones.

Monday 15 August 2011

Sunday, August 14th

What we watched live - Big Brother, True Blood

BB - Brendon is back in the house, so it's HoH time...all 6 of the newly formed alliance go down in a row, and Porsche and Dani are left, Dani wins.  The rest of the house poops their pants.  She nominates Adam and Shelly.  What??

True Blood - Jess is not dead but wants away from Hoyt, she runs to Jason and he rejects her.  Sookie renews Eric and vice versa and they run naked through a snow shower....??  Lafayette channels the woman that has been following him around then he/she takes satan baby.  The witches and vamps square off, and Sookie gets shot.  Eric gets tamed, or some shit.

Saturday, August 13th

What we watched live - again, nothing.  Mom was in so we played cards.  I won!

Friday, August 12th

What we watched live - Nothing.  Went out to a movie - Horrible Bosses.  Pretty good show.

Friday 12 August 2011

Thursday, August 11th

What we watched live - Big Brother

Why isn't BB in HD?  Huh, CBS?  Anyway, Lawon gets the sweep of votes to go home, but gets a chance to battle a prior evicted HG to stay in, and America voted that it be Brendon...seriously?  Epic fail.  Brendon then beats Lawon and is back in the house.  Well, I guess I can watch something else on TV for these three nights a week.

Wednesday, August 10th

What we watched live - Big Brother

Well, technically we PVR'd it and watched it at 10:30, but close enough.  The Veto competition went as thought with Jeff winning, but Lawon volunteering to go home was dumb.  Rachel needs to be put down.

Wednesday 10 August 2011

Tuesday, August 9th

What we watched live - The show on OWN about Shania Twain.  It wasn't bad, but fairly slow moving.  It was great to see her again and had no idea she has developed stage fright.

Tuesday 9 August 2011

Monday, August 8th

What we watched on TV - Not much, had ABC on when Bachelor Pad came on, watched for an hour, and then hit the bed.

Monday 8 August 2011

Sunday, August 7th

What we watched live - Big Brother, True Blood

BB - Kalia and her nominations.  Jeff bullied her, and it wasn't a great side of him.  Rachel got pissy and tried to go after Dani on more than one occasion...awkward!  She nominated Jeff and Rachel (yeah!)

True Blood - The season of the witch.  The 400 year old witch is on the war path and attempts to bring out the vamps into the light.  They are all aware and take steps to silver themselves.  The Tara stuff is boring, Sam kicks his brother out..again.  Lafayette sees and hears ghosts?  Pam gets a literal skin peal, and Ginger riding the coffin to keep her in it is hilarious.  Jessica breaks free of the silver and walks into the sun as Jason is racing to save her, and...fade to titles.  Frig!

Sunday 7 August 2011

Saturday, August 6th

What we watched from DVD - Gene Simmons Family Jewel S5, Disk 2.

Moving it along on a Saturday night.  The episode where Gene got marketing ideas from the class and then pitched them to his client, I thought was kinda cheesy, but then when he gave sleeping beauty credit and $20,000, that was cool.

Friday 5 August 2011

Friday, August 5th

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue
What we watched "live" - Faster (movie)

Rookie Blue - the panty stealer.  I agree with the characters, panty is a weird word.  Once more, Andy gets herself in trouble and has to be saved.  Luke is put to an end, and it seems that he ends it with his ex again.  How many weeks until they are back together again...?

Faster - short on story, long on getting to the point.  Two old Losties was great.  Mr. Echo seems smaller.  Good thing it was a short movie.  3/5 stars.

Thursday, August 4th

What we watched live - Big Brother

Brendon goes home, or wait, no he may have a chance to come back next week.  FUDGE!!
All the guests have the possibility of coming back, well except Dick.  Kalia wins the HoH comp!  Will Rachel be the nominee?  I think so...

Thursday 4 August 2011

Wednesday, August 3rd

What we watched Live - Big Brother

Veto night, Brendon wins, and that sucks.  He thinks he has everyone fooled that he is going to use it on himself, but instead uses it on Rachel, and that means he will be homeward bound tonight.  Jordan was the replacement nom.

Tuesday, August 2nd

What we watched from DVD - Family Jewels Season 5, eps. 4-7?

I'm pretty sure we watched 4 episodes.  We find out Nick has a girlfriend, and she's very cute.  Nick almost gets beat up for flirting, or rather, being flirted with, on a business trip with Gene.

Tuesday 2 August 2011

Monday, August 1st

What we watched from DVD - Family Jewels Season 5, eps 1-3.

Shannon's Biopsy, and Gene turns 60.  Finally Paul Stanley shows up on the show.  My wife was so happy, he's her fave.  When Shannon is talking about her fam, and knowing they are all from here, it just makes it a little more real.  Anyway, great start to the season.

Monday 1 August 2011

Sunday, July 31st

What we watched live - Big Brother, True Blood

BB - Fallout from the HoH and Brachel's attacks on Dani from last show.  Fittingly, Dani wins HoH, and the vets are shitting in their pants.  Rightfully so.  Brendon and Rachel get nominated.  Thank Jeebus!

True Blood - Eric and Sookie's sex romp is interrupted by Bill.  Eric is slated for the true death...jealous much, Bill?  Jason is convinced he will were-panther under the full moon, and Jess is there to help him.  The witch channels the old witch and now is powerful which I guess will help further that story along.  Tara hooks back up with her kick-boxing lesbian girlfriend, but Rotting Pam looks to end that.  Tommy shifts into Sam?  But it seems as if it kills him?  Sookie and Eric reconnect in the end as Bill has a change of heart, and Sookie and Eric get busy in the forest.

Sunday 31 July 2011

Saturday, July 30th

What we watched live - The Town (movie)

Really good movie.  The thick Boston accent made it tough at times, but it was well done, and of course, Ben Affleck gets away at the end.  4/5 stars.

Friday, July 29th

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue X 2

RB1 - Dove steps on a trap in a drug house that they were led to by a guy they captured in a car dealership sting.  The classic call up the cons and tell them they have won a car routine.  It actually worked.  Of course, there is also the side story of the older lady living in her car because the bank took here house away and she has to ask her daughter for 3 grand to stay out of jail.  As well, Luke cheats!  Bastard.

RB2 - The snitch from the first episode ends up dead and Lauren Holly is on the scene as Peck's Mom and police superintendent.  Wow, HD is not kind to Holly.  We follow a pimp and an underage girl and the girl is given protective custody, but escapes and contacts the pimp who nearly shoots her, but the force stops him just in time.  Andy confronts Luke and moves out.  Dove and Chris look after a non-speaking boy with rope marks, but it ends up not being abuse?

Thursday, July 21st

What we watched live - Big Brother.

I knew Dom would be the one going home, but the attacks on Dani were a little hard to take.  Brachel need to be divided and conquered.  Rachel is a small, small person.  The cliff-hanger of the HoH competition always gets to me.

Thursday 28 July 2011

Wednesday, July 27th

What we watched live - Big Brother, Love Bites

BB - Veto night, and Adam and Dom are in it to win it.  But, not really, as Dom is asked to throw the comp.  Brendon wins and leaves the b'ys on the block, mainly because they hope to do damage to Dani's game.  I think Dom will be going home for sure.

Love Bites - I know this show is not renewed, but it comes on after BB and when we left it on last week, everyone liked it.  Bed bugs was funny, the Choke and the Park Singing Proposal weren't as funny.

Tuesday, July 26th

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue

Yeah, so we are two weeks behind on RB, so this is the one where Andy gets in trouble and Sam saves her...oh, wait, that the plot for almost all the episodes.  This time though it's in a burned out laundromat.  10 grand for arson?  Alright.  We also learn Chris is nice because his Mom was looney.  That's not usually how that works, but whatever.

Tuesday 26 July 2011

Monday, July 25th

Watched nothing on TV tonight as I was grocery shopping until 10:30, and then went to bed early.  PVR night tomorrow though!

Sunday, July 24th

Back from holidays, so will likely be catching up on PVR and BB of course.

Watched live - BB, True Blood

BB - Adam and Dom nominated, I bet Adam does not go home.  Knowing they will likely all be broken up next show, Dom is too strong a player to stick around.  Really liking Dani this time around.

True Blood - Jason having Jessica fantasies, like it.  Sam parents are now dead, that easily?  Not likely.  The witch has no idea how to reverse the spells she cast, not good for Rotting Flesh Pam, but good for Sookie as she smooches Amnesiac Eric.

Tuesday 12 July 2011

Monday, July 11th

What we watched on TV - Hoarders.

Can't look away, and it's not great TV.  The guy with the 70 vehicles on his property they never discredited that he was indeed a brilliant inventor.  Maybe he is?  How else could he afford all those cars?

Sunday, July 10th

What we watched live - Big Brother, True Blood, 2/3 of Piranha (movie)

BB:  Nominations, and of course at this point we know because of spoilers that Dick is gone, but it is not addressed on this show.  This show is all about forming alliances and getting one new team to join up with the older teams.  In the end Porsche and Keith get nominated.  Not sure how the Dick situation will impact that.

True Blood: Insomnia Eric is hilarious, if you drank every time he said sorry, you wouldn't have made it very far.  Jess glamored Hoyt, which I think will come back to bite her.   Alcide is back with the psycho, dumb.  Bill is hoking up with the new girl, and Jason is on the edge of death, yet enjoying a lot of female attention...if you know what I mean.

Piranha:  Fun campy movie, Dreyfus was not in it for long, which was perfect.  Elizabeth Shue is still hot.  The shots of the Piranhas swimming solo don't make much sense as they are pack hunters...will give the stars after I finish it.

Saturday, July 9th

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue

Finally an episode where Andy isn't the victim, but it's her man, fiancee, I should say.  Then we find out the ring he gave her was bought for the other girl.  Andy doesn't know this yet.  Dove and White-hair start off fighting and end up best buds by the end of the show.  Awww.

Friday, July 8th

What we watched...nothing.  It was a hectic night and TV wasn't top of mind.

Friday 8 July 2011

Thursday, July 7th

What we PVR'd for later - Rookie Blue
What we watched "live" - Big Brother

Thank jeebus BB is back, and they have brought back Dick and Daniele, Brendon and Rachel (gag), and Jeff and Jordan (swoon).  I think the new players will be picked off one by one, with the Golden Key saving the best 4 to play against the six returnees in the top 10.  Very little chance of new hook-ups amongst the group though.  I could be wrong.

Thursday 7 July 2011

Wednesday, July 6th

What we watched "live" - Score, A hockey musical

Umm, not bad, I guess.  Not what I expected.  The main kid can sing, and when I looked him up I found out he was the voice of Franklin Turtle on the kids show Franklin.  Blew my mind.  3/5.

Wednesday 6 July 2011

Tuesday, July 5th

What we watched "live" - Nothing, it was our anniversary, so we went out for dinner, Press and Bean.  It was very good, and cost about what a small TV would.

Tuesday 5 July 2011

Monday, July 4th

What we watched "live" - Last third of Robin Hood, Hoarders

Robin Hood, what can I say...it wasn't as good as it could have been, and for a long movie it didn't have the depth it could have had.  I would say 3/5.  I own it on Blu-ray, so I'm stuck with it for now.

Hoarders - honest to God, it's like a train wreck, how do people live in their own shit, and by shit, I mean shit.  These folk are never good looking either, is something I've noticed.  They are always...let's just say...not winners?

Monday 4 July 2011

Sunday, July 3rd

What we watched "live" - True Blood

Another great show.  Jason gets fed on by the panthers, so now he will be one too?  I spose, b'y!  Jessica when she turns into sexy hungry vamp is awesome.  Eric tries to break up the necromancer witch coven and gets his memory erased?  Is that what happened, or is this the live version of Eric before he became dead?  Either way, he thinks Sookie smells good.

Sunday 3 July 2011

Saturday, July 2nd

What we watched live - Robin Hood (2/3 of it)

So far, it's different that other Robin Hood movies.  It's a pretty good r-imagining of it, and Alan Doyle has a lot of screen time.  More of my review when I finish it.

Friday, July 1st

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue

Andy and Whitey go undercover at a bar that sells drugs to it's patrons and it's run by an ex-cop.  Tangly.  Dove tries to help out a battered girlfriend and gets the short end of it, but ends up right in the end.

Thursday, June 30th

What we watched live - The ending of Inception.

Underwhelmed is the best way to describe my reaction.  Overall 3/5.

Thursday 30 June 2011

Wednesday, June 29th

What we watched live - 2/3 of Inception (movie)

So far, so good.  They are at the second level of the dream.  I'm sure we will find out that Leo is actually dead or something like that.

Tuesday, June 28th

What we watched live - I Kid with Brad Garrett

Yep, slim TV watching choices tonight.  It was fine, but I doubt I will watch it again.  Kids say the darnedest things was better.

Tuesday 28 June 2011

Monday, June 27th

No TV was watched tonight.  Actually hit the hay early.

Sunday, June 26th

What we watched live - True Blood

Yes, it's back.  Watched the last season's finale to refresh my mind.  Sookie was in Faerie Land for 13 months, yikes and she met her Grandpa there, and he's been there for 20 years.  The trippy part was when they changed back to the ugly faeries.  Bill and Eric returned to court her immediately. Jason is now a full-fledged cop, and Tara is now a cage-fighter and a lesbian?  Jessica is getting bored with house life with Hoyt.  Arlene is convinced the baby will be a psycho killer.  Sam is short tempered and is running with a new pack.  Lafayette and Jesus are in a witch's coven.  Man, it was a jam-packed hour!

Saturday, June 25th

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue

Glad to see this show back, and this was a well done episode.  Andy getting shot, and the new character that is Luke's ex is a great addition, but if she hooks up with Sam sparks will fly.

Friday, June 24th

What we watched "live" - NHL Entry Draft

Quite pleased with the Bruins selection of Dougie Hamilton.  Big D, gotta love them.
The lack of trades was disappointing though.  It's the only time I like hearing Bettman.

Friday 24 June 2011

Thursday, June 23rd

What we watched live - Nothing, channel surfed mostly

What we PVR'd for later - Rookie Blue

DIY and Wipeout, blah.  Not much TV watchin'

Thursday 23 June 2011

Wednesday, June 22nd

What we watched "live" - NHL Awards

Timmy wins the Vezina, as expected.  Not many other surprises except for Corey Perry winning the Hart.  I think they need two D-men awards, one named after Bobby Orr for Offensive D, and one for Defensive D.  Jay Mohr was okay as a host, but I still miss Ron as the host.

Wednesday 22 June 2011

Tuesday, June 21st

What we watched "live" - Social Network (movie)

Not a bad movie, the characters kind of sucked and had very little emotion.  The main actor is the Pepsi commercial kid's older brother.  He was good in Zombieland, but in this movie, not much acting, very little smiling or anything.  Eduardo, now that was a character, and he's going to be the new Spider-man.  Rating 4 out of 5.

Monday, June 20th

What we watched "live" - Hoarders

It's like a train wreck and you can't look away.  We watched two shows, two hours worth of hoarding.  The first was about rats and cats.  Dude was breeding rats in his "house" and they had to tear it apart and capture over 2000 rats.  It was disgusting.  The other lady had a few cats, and she never let them do anything and they gave up.  Maybe the two of them should hook up.  The second hour, which was apparently the season premiere was about dolls and trash.  The dolls one was pretty tame, they carted away four truckloads of dolls, and she was a little loony.  The other lady had no heat, or water and was living in her own used diapers and bottles of urine.  There was no sorting to do, it was all garbage and was just shoveled out.  What is wrong with people?

Monday 20 June 2011

Sunday, June 19th

What we watched live - True Grit (Movie)

My Father's Day gift on Blu-Ray.  This is of course, the True Grit from 2010, not the classic John Wayne one.  The young girl character in this reminded me so much of Megan Follows in Anne of Green Gables in her speech patterns and the braids, of course.  Jeff Bridges was great as Rooster.  I really like it, and give it a 9/10.

Saturday, June 18th

What we watched live - Going The Distance (movie)

Justin Long and Drew Barrymore.  Real-life couple, it seems she should be older than she is, and he younger, but Drew is only 3 years older IRL.  The movie was no bad, as far a RomComs go.  It kept my attention.  Christina Applegate was a great sister character, but Garrett's two buddies had most of the best lines.

7/10 for me.

Saturday 18 June 2011

Friday, June 17th

What we watched live - RED (movie)

It wasn't too bad, but a lot was not explained, like why they wen after Bruce Willis in the beginning.  Helen Mirren was her best, and Mary-Louise Parker is a lot hotter than I remember, and she's 47!!

Friday 17 June 2011

Thursday, June 16th

We watched absolutely no TV tonight.  Well, not true, DIY was on in the background and we barely paid attention to it.  Went to sack early and watched the inside our eyelids.

Wednesday, June 15th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Game 7

I am so happy right now.  My Bruins are cup champs.  I was born three months after the first one, so this is the first time in my lifetime.  Tim Thomas is a hero, and a Disney movie in the making.  Mark Recchi will go out on top, and the City of Vancouver goes out on a sour note.  Really, burning your city?  Grow up.

Wednesday 15 June 2011

Tuesday, June 14th

What we watched "live" - Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Disc 3 of Season 4.

Well, we've finished off Season 4.  As the news of Shannon being mad at Gene comes out and fans know it is all an act to pump ratings for Season 6.

Tuesday 14 June 2011

Monday, June 13th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals Game 6

As predicted, the Bruins win it in grand fashion, 5-2.  I hope this is the Bruins team that shows up in Van City too.  Or at least it's the same Boo-ongo.

Monday 13 June 2011

Sunday, June 12th

What we watched "live" - Burlesque (movie)

I have a new celebrity crush, and I'm not sure why because she was barely featured in this movie - Julianne Hough.  It lasted until this morning when I looked her up and saw that she is with Ryan Seacrest.  Lost all respect for her.  The movie was pretty good too.  Aguilera looks much better without all her regular make-up on.

Sunday 12 June 2011

Saturday, June 11th

What we watched "live" - Green Hornet (movie)

Not bad, Kato was great.  Watched the special features and found out he is huge in Asia!  Singer, record producer, director.  Man has talents!

Friday, June 10th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals Game 5.

I expected a loss this game, and of course, now expect a win in Game 6.  Boston just has to beat Vancouver on home ice then.  Funny that the same people that had them storming to the Cup in 4, now have them winning in 6.  They obviously don't follow hockey as close as they should.

Friday 10 June 2011

Thursday, June 9th

What we watched "live" - Family Jewels Season 4, 5 more episodes

Just killing time between Cup games and waiting for the start of the summer season - Rookie Blue and Big Brother, along with True Blood and Hung of course.

Thursday 9 June 2011

Wednesday, June 8th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals Game 4

Oh yeah, Bruins take another one, 4-0.  Tim Thomas is my hero.  Game 5 will be tough, but I would like to see the Bruins take it.  Bobby Orr waving Nate Horton's numbered flag before the game was a huge highlight.

Wednesday 8 June 2011

Tuesday, June 7th

What we watched "live"- Gene Simmons Family Jewels from DVD.

Two mores episodes, almost halfway through Season 4.  Carrot Top was in one of the ones we watched, and he took off his shirt.  Yeah, that's natural.

Monday, June 6th

What we watched "live"- Stanley Cup Game 3.

8 goals on Cam Neely(#8) birthday?  Poetic, even.  Rome's hit on Nate Horton was late, and as of now it is a rest of the playoffs suspension.  1 or 2 would have been fair, but whatever.  Seguin will draw back in in his place, and Ryder will bump up the line chart, I would guess.  Shawn Thornton is the man!

Monday 6 June 2011

Sunday, June 5th

What we watched "live" - Country Strong (Movie)

Can't believe I actually had to go to a video store to rent a movie because Rogers on Demand was not working right.  Got this one with Gnomeo & Juliet for my son.  He loved that one.  This movie was pretty good too.  The unexpected death at the end was, well, unexpected.  That Garrett kid can sing.  Leighton wasn't a bad singer either.

Sunday 5 June 2011

Saturday, June 4th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals - Game 2

Another good game by the Bruins with a shitty ending.  11 seconds into OT.  Crushing.  However, I think it has made the Bruins mad, and I expect the Bruins to take both games in Boston.  I hope.

Friday, June 3rd

What we watched "live" - Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Season 4, Disc 1

It's come to this, we are watching TV on DVD, because there is nothing on TV...love this series though.  KISS rules!

Thursday, June 2nd

What we watched "live" - Nothing.  We watched very little on TV tonight.

Wednesday, June 1st

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals, Game 1

Heartbreaker, 18 seconds left.  Great game by Tim Thomas.  Kaberle is still not worth the money.

Wednesday 1 June 2011

Tuesday, May 31st

What we watched "live" - Scott Pilgrim VS. The World

Thoughts:

SPVSTW - Very stylized movie, I guess that's the right word.  Very fast moving, both scene wise and dialogue wise.  Love all the Canadian references.  Ramona and her changing hair were captivating.  Knives played a major role after, and all the video game/NES references were great too.  4 out of 5 stars.

Tuesday 31 May 2011

Monday, May 30th

What we watched from PVR - Nothing
What we watched "live" - The Kids Are All Right (Movie)
What we PVR'd for later -Nothing

Thoughts:

The Kids Are All Right - Not a bad movie, tended to drag a bit.  Julianne Moore is still hot at 51.  Annette Bening is only 3 years older?  Would not have thought that.  Yaya DaCosta looked great on screen, first time I had seen her in anyhting.  3 stars out of 5.  IMDB

Monday 30 May 2011

Sunday, May 29th

What we watched from PVR - Modern Family, Cougar Town, Desperate Housewives
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later -Nothing

Thoughts:

Modern Family - Phil pretending to be Gloria's husband was hilarious.  Especially because we know she buckles his knees all the time.  Jay's birthday and he gets no gifts, what a rip!  Manny with the boat in the pool was a very thoughtful gift that no kid would ever think of, would they?

Cougar Town - An hour!  Going to Hawaii.  Jules and Grayson with the fight over wanting babies, and then make up and it seems like there may be babies in the future?  Funny that the rumour is they are dating in real life.  Bobby as Andy and Ellie's surrogate was funny too.  Ted from Scrubs as Ted was hilarious!

Desperate Housewives - 2 hours!  Jeesh, and to think I wanted this to be cancelled.  Oh well, we find out who the stranger is that is following Gaby.  Her step-dad who abused her as a teen.  She threatens him with a gun, and then Carlos whacks him.  Tom leaves Lynnette, Brie sleeps with the cop.  The roaming party is a great idea.  Lots of prep time though...  The four main ladies and Carlos hide the body and everyone is happy again.

Sunday 29 May 2011

Saturday, May 28th

What we watched from PVR - Body of Proof, Happy Endings X2, Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Glee
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Nothing

Thoughts:

BoP - Meghan finds out that her ex in sleeping with her boss, and finds this out from her daughter.  Cell pics on her daughter's phone also lead her to a very corrupt family, with the brother (thought he did it) being the only one not dead or in jail!

Happy Endings -See previous blog post.  Hopefully the out of sync episodes won't ruin ratings!

BBT - Wow, everything goes to pot!  Leonard and Priya split, because she's going back to India.  Howard and Bernadette are on the outs.  Raj sleeps with Penny!!  Sheldon is ...well.... Sheldon.

RoE - Russell ends up on a Red Hat Cruise, is having fun and ends up running into Liz.  Jeff and Audrey have a big argument while staying at Russell's and are able to review it because Timmy tells them about the cameras everywhere.  Adam and Jennifer have sex in the freshly painted apartment and paint gets places it shouldn't...

Grey's - What a letdown of a finale!  April as chief resident?  Alex getting black-balled by everyone.  Meredith suspended.  Christina preggers (I'm sure the tally of preggers on finales this season must be in the hundreds), and Meredith gets the baby just as Derek leaves her?  Teddy sticking around for her "husband" was nice though.  Better be better next season...

Private Practice - Charlotte has to deal with a rape victim, and she sort of tells her that she is also a survivor.  Violet leaves on book tour, and Pete is not happy about it.  Of course not, she is abandoning him again with Lucas.  Addison sleeps with Sam again after they decide to re-boot the practice, but she was spending the whole show with Benjamin Bratt.  Naomi is gone, but we knew that.  Pete has a heart attack after he tells Violet to go!  Chances are she comes back to get her keys or something at the start of next season.

Glee - New York and the Nationals.  Of course they don't have a song ready...or even written.  They spend their time visiting broadway and such.  The duet between Rachel and Kurt from Wicked is good, but the rest of the songs weren't.  Not a lot of drama, but Finn-Chel is back on.  Shocker - they don't win.  In fact, finish 12th.

Friday, May 27th

What we watched from PVR - Happy Endings
What we watched "live" - Bruins Game 7
What we PVR'd for later -Nothing

Thoughts:

Happy Endings - I have no idea which episode this was, but I know they then started to show these in the wrong order.  The last two of so happened shortly after the first episode and the Alex and Dave awkwardness was not yet over.

Bruins Game - Going to the Finals!!  First one since Bourque, Neely and Moog were the team.  Possible cup, first one in my lifetime.  Bruins in 6?

Thoughts:

H5-0:  Even though I knew exactly where this finale was going, it was still fun to watch it develop.  The Gov was in cahoots with Wo Fat, saw that coming, but I didn't see him shooting her and pinning it on Steve.  5-0 getting disbanded and Kono wiping the drives and getting arrested too.  Chin re-upping with the HPD, and Danny is the only one that can maybe save them all!  If he doesn't flee to Jersey with his wife and kid.  Can't wait for next season.

Thoughts:

Bruins Game - C'mon b'ys, really?  Do we have to take it to a game 7?  Drama is cool, in small doses.  However, Timmy is fantastic in the game after the game where he gives up 5, so...bring it, bolts!

What we watched from PVR - HIMYM, Mike & Molly
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Glee

Thoughts

HIMYM - Season Finale, and we get psyched out by Ted with the random blonde in the coffee place.  At least Zoey is out of the picture.  Lilly is preggers, and the wedding we keep seeing is Barney, but is he marrying Robin or the other one?  The fact I call her the other one is not really endearing of her character, is it?

Mike & Molly - It's all about marriage.  It seems like they would be breaking up, but in the end he proposes in her classroom, and Carl is all emotional.  All the characters are together then and Molly asks Mike when he bought the ring...about two weeks after they met.  Nice!!

What we watched from PVR - Bones & Bones Finale
What we watched "live" - Bruins-Lightning Game 5
What we PVR'd for later - Nothing

Thoughts:

Bones 1 - Mr. Nigel-Murray!  Oh no!  Heck of a shot though.  Booth won the gun battle, but didn't kill him, so there may be a return if he escapes.  Bones and Booth sleep together?  More on that later.  I guess he did put the "lime in the coconut!"

Bones 2 - Baby time!  Angela gives birth and the boy beats the odds and is not blind.  Bones reveals she is preggers for Booth.  Sure it was only an hour ago?  How would she know already?  The magic of TV, I tell ya.

Bruins Game - Series lead, but they can't have that few of shots and keep winning.  Thomas' stick save was great, but in desperation.

What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Nothing

Thoughts:

Cougar Town - Penny Can goes mainstream.  So mainstream that Lou Diamond Phillips is on the can and talking and all the rules get changed.  Bobby eventually sells and moves out of the boat, which Travis moves into.  Ellie and Grayson have to deal with the Children of the Corn of sidewalk chalkers.  They show them!

What we watched from PVR - Modern Family
What we watched "live" - Bruins-TBay Game 3
What we PVR'd for later - Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Bones

Thoughts:

Modern Family: So this is Alex's Grade 9 grad?  Never had that, but okay.  Chay with his botched BoTox made him look like he had a stroke.  The gate that wouldn't open - how annoying would that be?  Cam falling in the pool was funny, busting through the screen door twice was even funnier.  Phil and Claire falling down the hill was pretty funny too.

Bruins Game: A 2-0 victory was pretty sweet, didn't gain any ground in my hockey pools with scores like that though!

Wednesday, May 18th

What we watched from PVR - Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Modern Family, Cougartown, Happy Endings X2

Thoughts:

Grey's Anatomy: The whole episode was a build-up to the last line.  How long is this process for chief resident anyway?  The way it looks, none of them are going to get it!  The tree growing in the lung was pretty cool, yet a little scary...A few of the lesser characters have chosen to get jobs elsewhere too, so new folks next season!  Although I like Teddy.

Private Practice: Dell's daughter returns after a less than stellar send off the last time, and this time after her drama with the foster parents and a spoiled kid, she is going to be adopted by Naomi!  The botched abortion storyline was a little too played out, and the quick snippet of Shepherd having a drink at the end is a preview of what is happening next week.

Tuesday, May 17th

What we watched from PVR - Nothing
What we watched "live" - Glee, Raising Hope, Bruins-TBay Game 2
What we PVR'd for later - Body of Proof

Thoughts:

Glee - Interesting episode.  Sue has a heart, although it's now broken.  Jesse St. James tries to pit all the kids against each other but it doesn't work, in fact, fails completely.  Emma pecks Will on the cheek and heads away crying.  Finn ends it with Quinn, but Quinn has a surprise planned for NYC...Terri leaves for good?

Raising Hope - The Goth/Anime make-up (Drakkar Noir) getup on Jimmy had me laughing every time he came on screen.  Maw-Maw was sane 5 years ago and tossed out the grand-kids, and they were able to sort of survive on their own.  We learn that Sabrina dug goth-Jimmy, how the chipped tooth happened, and how to eat at a supermarket without paying!

Bruins Game - Why the 9:30 NST starts?  Man, tired here this morning.  Seguin is the (young) man.  Ryder with two too.  Hopefully the cut over Timmy's eye doesn't affect anything.

Monday, May 16th

What we watched from PVR - Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - HIMYM, Mike & Molly, Hawaii 5-0

Thoughts:

Big Bang Theory: Oh Sheldon, you and your phobias.  Although sharing water bottles is kind of gross, Raj continuing the prank was great.  Sheldon getting locked in the toxic room was his worst nightmare.

RoE: Jeff feels threatened because Audrey gets a raise and buys a TV.  I would admit that my wife buying a TV without me there would freak me out a little too.  Adam and his fake proposals to get free food was pretty ingenious.  Russell jealous of the shrew upstairs with Andy from According to Jim was a little awkward..

Sunday, May 15th

What we watched from PVR - Nothing
What we watched "live" - Survivor 3 hours
What we PVR'd for later - Desperate Housewives

Thoughts:

Survivor: Rob won, well he deserved it, but how did the others let him get that far?  He took the right two to the end with him - crazy Phillip and useless Natalie.  If it were Grant and Ashley there would have been more of a fight.  For the first time in a while, we did not get an update from all players.  In fact, 4 or 5 we never heard a word from.  I was hoping Matt would win America's choice, but I know America voted the better game player, Rob, thinking he had no shot at winning the million.  Next time, two more past Survivors look for their shot at Redemption...

Saturday, May 14th

What we watched from PVR - Hawaii 5-0, Body of Proof, Happy Endings X2
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Nothing

Thoughts:

H5-0: The drama for Danny episode is finally here.  He ingests some kind of chemical agent and almost dies, and we find out he may be back with his ex-wife.  Agent Kaye is back, and helps save Danny by identifying the poison.  Sang Min tries to shoot Steve, but at the end asks for his help because Wo Fat is coming for him.

BoP: Wait, Mom is a judge?  Did we know that?  There are two cases going at the same time here, and although they seem unrelated, we find out they are indeed linked and the coach and teammate are involved.  An exhumed 12 month body is gross.

Happy Endings X2: The tattoo removal, did they or didn't they.  No they both kept them, so maybe there is potential for a rekindling of the romance there again, but not likely, that would sink the show.  Max trying to find a guy, and then trying not to seem interested, but he is interested.  He gets so confused that he almost screws up his chance.

Friday, May 13th

What we watched from PVR - Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Mike & Molly
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Nothing

Thoughts:

DH: I'm really thinking of dropping this show, especially if ABC cancels it..8)  The Tom and Lynette drama is too much.  Susan is too dense for words, and Brie has had more suitors than seemingly possible.  The cop calling her a whore was a bizarre twist.

B&S: Having found out the cancellation after watching this was bittersweet, but the wedding with small drama was a nice sendoff.  Sarah accepting Brody, Justin opening the chance for the new love, etc.  All storylines we will no longer see.  Oh well.

Mike & Molly: Finally a show about the sister!  She joining the choir was funny, and then she has a voice and shuns Carl for other random choir member.  Carl cracks me up.  His lines and facial expressions make the show even funnier.

Friday 13 May 2011

Thursday, May 12th

What we watched from PVR - Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Bones
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Bones

Thoughts:

Grey's - Last week's show.  We're so behind.  Seattle Grace is still dealing with the children that came over from Africa.  Although they don't deal much with the surgeries and such, it's all about the people drama this week.  Mer is threatened by Alex that he is going to blab about what she did.  Christina wants to operate, but Teddy won't let her.  Teddy gets an offer to leave with his boyfriend, but her husband doesn't know.  Jackson saves mice, and Richard is proud of him.  Arizona and Cali get married, but Cali's mom wants no part.  She thinks Cali is going to hell.  Nice.

Private Practice - Still more fallout from the book.  It's now looking like the entire practice could be taken down with Violet.  All the time this is going on Cooper and Charlotte are trying to get married.  Their parents clash, of course, and they all tell them they are not right for each other and shouldn't get married.  They hop a jet to Vegas and do it anyway.

Bones - Fantastic show about a deaf and non-communicative girl.  I think that's the PC way to say mute?  They must determine her age first to see if she's a minor.  The scan they do reveals abuse.  They had already found who they though were the parents, and they were the abusers.  It seems she ran away and a friend of the father's kidnapped her as she got off the bus.  She stabbed him in self-defense.  She was kidnapped by the folks she calls her parents now when she was three.  She has no idea who she is, but Bones pulls a wisdom tooth and drills into it to find out she was from California, and she is reunited with her parents.  It was a great episode.  Oh, and Angela had pre-labour.

Wednesday, May 11th

What we watched from PVR - Happy Endings
What we watched "live" - Survivor, Modern Family, Cougartown
What we PVR'd for later - Happy Endings X2

Thoughts:

Happy Endings - How did we get a whole week behind?  Jeez.  Haven't we all fantasized about opening our own restaurant?  Probably not as ambitious as Pangaea, but still.  The the hipsters?  Whatever, I'm over it, but I'll dance backwards out of the 90's Mitzvah in my purple/blue leggings!

Survivor - Rooster gets sent home in the duel (four-el) that I thought they would use to shrink the numbers even further, but no, 8 people are making it to Sunday's finale.  The big shocker, I think, is that Grant was voted off.  Rob can't win this, no way!

Modern Family - Cam is sick, and it's interfering with the Lady Gaga concert!  Heaven forbid.  Claire and Phil switch Good Cop, Bad Cop roles, and it's disastrous.  You poked the bear!  I was afraid to not drink the milkshake!

Cougartown - The breakup aftermath.  Not so funny, but the arrival of Andy's family was!  Nia Vardelous (sp!) as his sister-in-law with a thing for him was hilarious, yet conflicting.  Everyone else spoke the language except Andy.  Too funny!

What we watched from PVR - Nothing
What we watched "live" - Glee, Raising Hope
What we PVR'd for later - Body of Proof

Thoughts:

Glee - The prom episode was kind of disappointing in my opinion, or maybe it was just over-hyped.  Some of the most annoying songs were performed as well, which didn't help.  Really, Friday?  and Jesse St. James?  Gag.  Karofsky had a chance to come out to the school and missed it, but there's still time, right?

Raising Hope - Ethan Suplee & Jaime Pressley on the show...sweet!  Bert's line about needing one more stump to get his stump removal certificate had me cracking up, but not as much as the advertisements the grocery store staff did - "My Prices...", and Shannon Woodward looking hot, as always.

Tuesday 10 May 2011

Monday, May 9th

What we watched from PVR - Fringe
What we watched "live" - HIMYM, Mad Love
What we PVR'd for later - Mike & Molly, Hawaii 5-0

Thoughts:

Fringe:  Great finale, a little confusing at times, but left us with questions as all finales should.  15 years in the future, Peter saves the world by going back in time subconsciously, and makes a different choice.  Both worlds are united, but Peter then disappears because he never existed.  Wait, so does the baby disappear too?

HIMYM:  The end of the Arcadian saga and the end of Zoey, thank god that is over.  It was just dragging on, especially since we were told several episodes ago that she wasn't the mother.

Mad Love: Tiffany is dealing with the marriage break-up, Ben ruins a first edition Jungle Book, and uses it to help Tiffany grow up.  Larry is able to use self-restraint to not hit on Tiffany when she is vulnerable.  Connie ends up as personal assistant to Evil Rachel Ray wanna-be, which ends horribly.  Tiffany reveals at the end of the episode that she is staying in NY, which works out for everybody!

Monday 9 May 2011

Sunday, May 8th

What we watched from PVR - Happy Endings
What we watched "live" - Amazing Race
What we PVR'd for later - Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters

Thoughts:

Happy Endings: This was the one with the mouse and Jazz-Kung-Fu.  Cuthbert in the spandex!  Sweet!  I wonder if gaycist will catch on as a new word?

Amazing Race: Finale, 2 hours.  Well, to be honest, it was two one hour shows.  The waxing looked painful and they never even got to finish Zev and Justin.  They end up with some embarrassing beach chests, and get eliminated.  The final three race on and a cab kills Mal and Gary, like it usually does.  The Globetrotters end up finishing second behind your winners - Jenn and LaKisha.

Saturday, May 7th

What we watched from PVR - Brothers & Sisters, Mike & Molly, Hawaii 5-0, Body of Proof
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Nothing

Thoughts:

B&S: Brody is the Dad and we go through the realization by all parties that this may not work out.  Norah is still in love, Sarah wants nothing to do with him, brothers and sisters become half overnight.  Justin has a returning love interest - Tyler, unseen in 3 or 4 seasons.

Mike & Molly: Vince doesn't have a high school diploma, and he recruits Mike to help him get it.  Molly is the better one, but Molly and the family think Vince's big secret is an affair.  Hijinks ensue.

H5-0: Rick Springfield goes boom!  It was his assistant, who was also his daughter, who didn't know that Rick had just set up a trust fund for her to account for the life he missed because her Mom never told him about her.  Oh the drama.  Does the super hot Kono have a new love interest too?  Hope so, her character needs some development.

BoP: Two more facets of Megan's life are revealed.  Her Dad was killed, and was told about it by a cop, which caused her much grief.  Her ex-husband is revealed, and surprisingly, she is not a fan.  I fear that Kate is dating him.  That will just be awkward.

Friday 6 May 2011

Friday, May 6th

What we watched from PVR - Private Practice, Bones, Desperate Housewives
What we watched "live" - Bruins-Philly Game 4
What we PVR'd for later - Fringe

Thoughts:

Private Practice: The baby-cutter is back and files suit against Violet to stop the book.  Charlotte and Cooper have a few issues to work out before the wedding, not the least of which is Charlie's ex-husband, who we find out is gay, and he cheated on her to see if it was just her he didn't find attractive.  What a slap in the face!

Bones: Honesty is the best policy?  Not likely.  We have a body in the planter, now how did he get there?  Wendell uses it to get a full-time job (is he now a full-time cast member?)  Hodgins and Angela use it to confront the baby issues.

DH: Bree has yet another love interest, but hates the girls running around, and tries to break them of their bad habits.  It's helped along by Carlos telling the girls that Bree killed Nana.  Lynette tries to belittle her husband, but it doesn't work.  Susan is trying to nurse Paul back to health but Felicia is poisoning him, and Paul tosses her out when she asks about him moving out, then he collapses on the floor.

The Game:  Tampa Bay here we come, and Lucic is scoring!

Thursday, May 5th

What we watched from PVR - Happy Endings, Cougar Town
What we watched "live" - Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement
What we PVR'd for later - Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Bones

Thoughts:

Happy Endings: Brad's Dad is here!  Stunt casting, it's Damon Sr.  He can't tell his son he loves him.  When he tries he almost dies..twice.  Alex and Penney try finding guys at the bar, one guy sends over ribs.  Smooth.

Cougar Town: Jules and Bobby switch living arrangements for the weekend.  It doesn't work out too well.  Travis bonds with Grayson, and Travis then proposes to Kirsten with disasterous results, and Grayson and Jules witness it.  Jules saying "please say yes" was heart-wrenching.

BBT: 3 player chess, you know someone has this now in the works.  Priya and Leonard set up a couples dinner for them and Howard and Bernadette, Penny and Amy try to get Bernandette to be the mole and feed her lines to say about Penny, but she is a bad liar.  Raj tries a new drug to talk to girls, but ends up naked.

RoE: Timmy gets welcomed to America, even though he became a US citizen years ago.  Russell is using it to get with the party-planner new hot chick.  Jeff and Audrey are freaked about possibly having twins.  Surrogate Brenda has it checked again anyway and it's not twins.  Jeff exclaiming his happiness that it's not twins, cause the twins that Adam and Jenn blamed for the toilet blockage to leave post haste.

Wednesday, May 4th

What we watched from PVR - Nothing
What we watched "live" - Survivor, Modern Family, Bruins-Philly Game 3
What we PVR'd for later - Cougar Town, Happy Endings X2

Thoughts:

Survivor:  Enough with the Robbites!  Jeez, it was like they were anointing the son of God up there!  I think Mike's sacrifice was a dumb play, but if, and that's a big IF, he makes it to the end, and they remember, it may garner him some votes.

Modern Family: Mother's day, and Cam takes offense to being labelled the Mom.  Jay has a moment when he's cooking and it makes him think about his Mom.  Gloria's pants...enough said about that.

Bruins game:  Total Bruins domination again.  Dear Bruins, we were in this exact position against this exact team last year.  Please, I can't go through that again.

Tuesday, May 3rd

What we watched from PVR - Nothing
What we watched "live" - Glee, Raising Hope
What we PVR'd for later - Body of Proof

Thoughts:

Glee: Rumours, and they don't even do my favorite track - Second Hand News.  Santana singing Songbird to Britney was superb, and fleshing out Sam's character was a much needed development.  No Kurt, No Rachel cry-sing this episode, which was refreshing.

Raising Hope: Bert using sex to get better tips in his gardening business, and then all the family tries it with the usual disastrous results...  The loser trophy was a nice touch.

Monday 2 May 2011

Monday, May 2nd

What we watched from PVR - Nothing
What we watched "live" - HIMYM, Mad Love, Bruins-Philly Game 2
What we PVR'd for later - Mike & Molly, Hawaii 5-0

Thoughts:

HIMYM: Marshall and Barney layeth the smackdown-eth on each other, and the girls try different drink combos to bring a resolution.  Ted and Zoe have a fight about the old building and try to spend a night there, but the Cock-a-mouse drives them out, and Ted is now anti-GNB too!

Mad Love: The lost camera leads us to discover Larry's soft side, and Connie likes it.  Ben wear pink tighty-whiteys as his lucky undies.  Kate showers with the shower radio around her neck...really?  Tiffany's unseen husband leaves her.  Opening the door for Larry?

Bruins Game:  Another solid effort from the B's.  Was nervous at first, but Tim Thomas brought it on late, and Krejci scores in OT, even though they played on...

Sunday, May 1st

What we watched from PVR - Fringe, Grey's Anatomy
What we watched "live" - Amazing Race
What we PVR'd for later - Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters

Thoughts:

Fringe: Peter all confused, and me too!  So the blast caused him to think he was in the alternate world?  Liv and the Sam Wise go on a treasure hunt, and Liv finds out she is the crowbar.  She must use her mind to shut down the machine to allow Peter to enter it.  Jeez, this is getting complicated!

Grey's Anatomy: The Alz trials, again.  Adele finally is bad enough to get in and Meredith switches it so that she gets the agent instead of the placebo.  Alex is the only one who knows.  Alex manages to get $100,000 out of a cranky Doris Roberts for his African kids, only she dies, only to have her give him $200,000 after the fact...  Cali is allowed to go home, but melts down about the baby going out into the world, and Miranda convinces her to do it anyway.

Saturday, April 30th

What we watched from PVR - Survivor, Body of Proof, Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, Cougar Town
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Nothing

Thoughts:

Survivor:  Double tribal council, and the last two who aren't Robbites, are sent to Redemption Island.  Phillip is all kinds of crazy!  Julie was fully eliminated at the start of the show.  There are now 4 on RED Island?  Jeff, what are you planning?

Body of Proof:  Great episode where a power B ends up floating in a pool.  The whole team works together on this one, bugs, hair and all.  So a note to power B's.  Watch your back and pay attention if all your staff have anxiety twitches...

Big Bang Theory:  Leonard finally has a lawyer that can challenge the roommate agreement.  It all comes to a halt when Sheldon threatens to e-mail her parents about their relationship.  Amy and Sheldon kiss!

RoE:  Jeff has a buff pic of him from 20 years ago, and tries to turn his keg back into a 6-pack.  It nearly kills him.  Adam wants a sexy pic done, and Jenn turns out sexy, Adam ends up in a same sex dating ad.  Russell sleeps with the annoying neighbor, which grosses Jeff out.

Cougar Town: "wrong balls" Cobb is born.  Bar trivia is pretty lame, but I also rule at it!  Jules has magic powers!

Friday, April 29th

What we watched from PVR - Happy Endings, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Mad Love, Glee, Raising Hope
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Fringe

Thoughts:

Happy Endings: I'm really digging this show, the characters are great and the relationships are so bizarre.  All three girls were playing beards, and the gay guy instead outed his friend!

Desperate Housewives: I don't get Tom and Lynette's relationship at all.  Tom is toast of the town after being unemployed for years, owning a pizza place, and Lynette has dropped off the chart after being on top.  The Brie and Gaby scenes were funny, and the Susan wet naps were gross.

Brothers & Sisters: Kudos to the actors that play Scotty and Kevin.  Talk about a tough situation.  And why did she bring the baby to Justin?  They find out Brody is Sarah's father.  This show should get very interesting this week!

Mad Love: This show has almost hit the wall.  The skipping work thing, and flubbing on the speech almost ended badly, and the implied sexual tension needs to be brought out more.

Glee: 90 minutes to let us all know that Kurt is back at McKinley, but it was great to see Mike O'Malley back as Kurt's dad.  The Warblers send off was weak, but, Born This Way with the T-shirts was well done.  Now if Shu would make the move on Emma...hey, no Sue this week?

Raising Hope:  Sleep training for Hope, and the hot new girl bares all.  Jimmy dumps her of course.  Well, they weren't even dating, so that's over.

What we watched from PVR - Fringe, Bones, Body of Proof
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, Bones, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice

Thoughts:

Fringe: Great episode, both universes.  Other-Liv is trying to come back here.  Peter is trying to stop the machine, and gets blown off the platform, brain trauma!  Bowling alley dude is back, and being all cryptic an shit.  The upcoming finale is going to be great, who will die?

Bones: Preview episode of the Finder.  I think I will like that show when it comes on.  MCD has been a fave of mine for a long time anyway.  Wally telling Ange that she's an 11, and asking Hodgins if he is rich because he's a 7.  Classic!

Body of Proof: The twins with the heart conditions, and the cocky doctor.  The twins story line was the better part of this show, as the corrupt medical professional with the vendetta against the frat president who caused her son to OD, was just too overdone.

Tonight, we hope to get the PVR % back below 30% at least!!

Bruins-Habs: Bruins tried everything to win, but 5-0n-3's are hard to kill off.  The Lucic penalty was almost a mirror image to the Briere hit in the other game, except Lucic is about 6 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier.  Anyway, proud of the b'ys, and will have to PVR Survivor for probably the first time ever tonight for Game 7!!

What we watched from PVR - Hawaii 5-0, Parenthood
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Mad Love

Thoughts:

H5-0: Puff Daddy, don't like him as an actor, barely tolerated him as a singer/rapper.  I'm guessing we see more of him and Keith David, though.  Little tidbit of the pictures dropped off relating to Steve's Dad.  Can't be many more episodes left until the finale?

Parenthood:  The finale.  The play goes ahead (awful quick from write to produce, wha?).  Amber realizes she has issues.  Zeke with the junkyard visit drove that home for her.  Adam gets fired, then finds out they are pregnant.  Crosby gets Jazz to sit and talk in the house.  Christina's baby clock starts up again..

Sunday, April 24th

What we watched from PVR - Mike & Molly, Happy Endings
What we watched "live" - Amazing Race
What we PVR'd for later - Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters

Thoughts:

Mike & Molly: Samuel gets fired because of Carl, Mike has to put him up for a while.  The arrangement doesn't work out well (shocker!), and Mike pays the diner owner 20 bucks a week to hire Samuel back with the 20/week raise.

Happy Endings: Scrubs reunion as Mike Mosley is the squatter in the ceiling.  Brad is able to get back at Jane's meddling, with their new friends who want Jane for a 3-some.  Dave is a sleepwalker/dancer/singer.

Amazing Race: Darn, the cowboys are gone.  How much cheese fondue can you eat?  Jeez, two scoops and I would have been out.  Not terribly tough challenges this time, is there?

What we watched from PVR - Bones, Desperate Housewives, Brother & Sisters, Mad Love
What we watched "live" - Nothing
What we PVR'd for later - Fringe

Thoughts:

Bones: Butterflies can be gross!  The chuppacabra mention always sends me back to old X-Files episodes.  The Jeffersonian has a sound library, who knew?  From nearly the start I knew who the killers were, just not how they did it.

DH: I figured when they showed the dialysis buddy in the "previously on", that he would play a part, and he did for Susan, he died..  Carlos was told about Andrew killing his Mom, and understandable lost it.  I'm surprised Gabby is allowed in the house!  A $100,000 signing bonus?  Really?  He was unemployed a couple of years ago!

B&S: Luc and the showing, and Sarah almost sold the house.  Oops.  Michelle has a baby, and it's likely Kev and Scotty's.  Oops again.  Brody turns out to have lied about his blood type and Sarah may be his.  So he leaves, and Nora has a broken heart.  No Kitty this episode.

Mad Love: Bar trivia, realized I was a nerd when I rhymed off what HTML stood for...  The girls go spa-ing, and it's all about looking young.  Team Sha-Boom likely win the bar trivia...
