What we watched live - 2/3 of Inception (movie)

So far, so good.  They are at the second level of the dream.  I'm sure we will find out that Leo is actually dead or something like that.

Tuesday, June 28th

What we watched live - I Kid with Brad Garrett

Yep, slim TV watching choices tonight.  It was fine, but I doubt I will watch it again.  Kids say the darnedest things was better.

Monday, June 27th

No TV was watched tonight.  Actually hit the hay early.

Sunday, June 26th

What we watched live - True Blood

Yes, it's back.  Watched the last season's finale to refresh my mind.  Sookie was in Faerie Land for 13 months, yikes and she met her Grandpa there, and he's been there for 20 years.  The trippy part was when they changed back to the ugly faeries.  Bill and Eric returned to court her immediately. Jason is now a full-fledged cop, and Tara is now a cage-fighter and a lesbian?  Jessica is getting bored with house life with Hoyt.  Arlene is convinced the baby will be a psycho killer.  Sam is short tempered and is running with a new pack.  Lafayette and Jesus are in a witch's coven.  Man, it was a jam-packed hour!

Saturday, June 25th

What we watched from PVR - Rookie Blue

Glad to see this show back, and this was a well done episode.  Andy getting shot, and the new character that is Luke's ex is a great addition, but if she hooks up with Sam sparks will fly.

Friday, June 24th

What we watched "live" - NHL Entry Draft

Quite pleased with the Bruins selection of Dougie Hamilton.  Big D, gotta love them.
The lack of trades was disappointing though.  It's the only time I like hearing Bettman.

Thursday, June 23rd

What we watched live - Nothing, channel surfed mostly

What we PVR'd for later - Rookie Blue

DIY and Wipeout, blah.  Not much TV watchin'

Wednesday, June 22nd

What we watched "live" - NHL Awards

Timmy wins the Vezina, as expected.  Not many other surprises except for Corey Perry winning the Hart.  I think they need two D-men awards, one named after Bobby Orr for Offensive D, and one for Defensive D.  Jay Mohr was okay as a host, but I still miss Ron as the host.

Tuesday, June 21st

What we watched "live" - Social Network (movie)

Not a bad movie, the characters kind of sucked and had very little emotion.  The main actor is the Pepsi commercial kid's older brother.  He was good in Zombieland, but in this movie, not much acting, very little smiling or anything.  Eduardo, now that was a character, and he's going to be the new Spider-man.  Rating 4 out of 5.

Monday, June 20th

What we watched "live" - Hoarders

It's like a train wreck and you can't look away.  We watched two shows, two hours worth of hoarding.  The first was about rats and cats.  Dude was breeding rats in his "house" and they had to tear it apart and capture over 2000 rats.  It was disgusting.  The other lady had a few cats, and she never let them do anything and they gave up.  Maybe the two of them should hook up.  The second hour, which was apparently the season premiere was about dolls and trash.  The dolls one was pretty tame, they carted away four truckloads of dolls, and she was a little loony.  The other lady had no heat, or water and was living in her own used diapers and bottles of urine.  There was no sorting to do, it was all garbage and was just shoveled out.  What is wrong with people?

Sunday, June 19th

What we watched live - True Grit (Movie)

My Father's Day gift on Blu-Ray.  This is of course, the True Grit from 2010, not the classic John Wayne one.  The young girl character in this reminded me so much of Megan Follows in Anne of Green Gables in her speech patterns and the braids, of course.  Jeff Bridges was great as Rooster.  I really like it, and give it a 9/10.

Saturday, June 18th

What we watched live - Going The Distance (movie)

Justin Long and Drew Barrymore.  Real-life couple, it seems she should be older than she is, and he younger, but Drew is only 3 years older IRL.  The movie was no bad, as far a RomComs go.  It kept my attention.  Christina Applegate was a great sister character, but Garrett's two buddies had most of the best lines.

7/10 for me.

Friday, June 17th

What we watched live - RED (movie)

It wasn't too bad, but a lot was not explained, like why they wen after Bruce Willis in the beginning.  Helen Mirren was her best, and Mary-Louise Parker is a lot hotter than I remember, and she's 47!!

Thursday, June 16th

We watched absolutely no TV tonight.  Well, not true, DIY was on in the background and we barely paid attention to it.  Went to sack early and watched the inside our eyelids.

Wednesday, June 15th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Game 7

I am so happy right now.  My Bruins are cup champs.  I was born three months after the first one, so this is the first time in my lifetime.  Tim Thomas is a hero, and a Disney movie in the making.  Mark Recchi will go out on top, and the City of Vancouver goes out on a sour note.  Really, burning your city?  Grow up.

Tuesday, June 14th

What we watched "live" - Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Disc 3 of Season 4.

Well, we've finished off Season 4.  As the news of Shannon being mad at Gene comes out and fans know it is all an act to pump ratings for Season 6.

Tuesday, 14 June 2011

Monday, June 13th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals Game 6

As predicted, the Bruins win it in grand fashion, 5-2.  I hope this is the Bruins team that shows up in Van City too.  Or at least it's the same Boo-ongo.

Monday, 13 June 2011

Sunday, June 12th

What we watched "live" - Burlesque (movie)

I have a new celebrity crush, and I'm not sure why because she was barely featured in this movie - Julianne Hough.  It lasted until this morning when I looked her up and saw that she is with Ryan Seacrest.  Lost all respect for her.  The movie was pretty good too.  Aguilera looks much better without all her regular make-up on.

Saturday, June 11th

What we watched "live" - Green Hornet (movie)

Not bad, Kato was great.  Watched the special features and found out he is huge in Asia!  Singer, record producer, director.  Man has talents!

Friday, June 10th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals Game 5.

I expected a loss this game, and of course, now expect a win in Game 6.  Boston just has to beat Vancouver on home ice then.  Funny that the same people that had them storming to the Cup in 4, now have them winning in 6.  They obviously don't follow hockey as close as they should.

Thursday, June 9th

What we watched "live" - Family Jewels Season 4, 5 more episodes

Just killing time between Cup games and waiting for the start of the summer season - Rookie Blue and Big Brother, along with True Blood and Hung of course.

Thursday, 9 June 2011

Wednesday, June 8th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals Game 4

Oh yeah, Bruins take another one, 4-0.  Tim Thomas is my hero.  Game 5 will be tough, but I would like to see the Bruins take it.  Bobby Orr waving Nate Horton's numbered flag before the game was a huge highlight.

Tuesday, June 7th

What we watched "live"- Gene Simmons Family Jewels from DVD.

Two mores episodes, almost halfway through Season 4.  Carrot Top was in one of the ones we watched, and he took off his shirt.  Yeah, that's natural.

Monday, June 6th

What we watched "live"- Stanley Cup Game 3.

8 goals on Cam Neely(#8) birthday?  Poetic, even.  Rome's hit on Nate Horton was late, and as of now it is a rest of the playoffs suspension.  1 or 2 would have been fair, but whatever.  Seguin will draw back in in his place, and Ryder will bump up the line chart, I would guess.  Shawn Thornton is the man!

Sunday, June 5th

What we watched "live" - Country Strong (Movie)

Can't believe I actually had to go to a video store to rent a movie because Rogers on Demand was not working right.  Got this one with Gnomeo & Juliet for my son.  He loved that one.  This movie was pretty good too.  The unexpected death at the end was, well, unexpected.  That Garrett kid can sing.  Leighton wasn't a bad singer either.

Saturday, June 4th

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals - Game 2

Another good game by the Bruins with a shitty ending.  11 seconds into OT.  Crushing.  However, I think it has made the Bruins mad, and I expect the Bruins to take both games in Boston.  I hope.

Friday, June 3rd

What we watched "live" - Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Season 4, Disc 1

It's come to this, we are watching TV on DVD, because there is nothing on TV...love this series though.  KISS rules!

Thursday, June 2nd

What we watched "live" - Nothing.  We watched very little on TV tonight.

Wednesday, June 1st

What we watched "live" - Stanley Cup Finals, Game 1

Heartbreaker, 18 seconds left.  Great game by Tim Thomas.  Kaberle is still not worth the money.

Tuesday, May 31st

What we watched "live" - Scott Pilgrim VS. The World

Thoughts:

SPVSTW - Very stylized movie, I guess that's the right word.  Very fast moving, both scene wise and dialogue wise.  Love all the Canadian references.  Ramona and her changing hair were captivating.  Knives played a major role after, and all the video game/NES references were great too.  4 out of 5 stars.
